impronta sigillo
CMS II, 6 28

Inventory
94763
Inventory: 94763
Museum: Archaeological Museum of Florence
Measure: 2.8 x 1.5; thickness: 1.2
Shape: Hanging nodule with a single hole
Inscription: Wa 1094: engraved "cross" symbol (Linear AB 02 RO). Scribe: unknown
Motif: CMS II,6 28. A seal impression - likely from a lentoid soft-stone: two motifs seem mixed. From one side we see the "bird-lady", where both arms may be intended as wings; but the upper part of the woman represents a bucranium as well, where the eyes correspond to the breasts, the horns to the arms and the muzzle to the bodice
Bibliography: Laviosa 1969: 17 no. 7 Tavv. VI,7 e VIII,7; GORILA 2: 14; CMS II,6 28; Hallager 1996 II: 247; Jasink 2009: CR.231; Albertini-Jasink-Montecchi 2014: 9
Notes: From the same seal one sealing in RMP (71973)
