CMS II, 6 28

Inventory
71973

Inventory: 71973
Museum: Pigorini Museum of Rome
Measure: 2.0 x 1.5 x 1.2
Shape: Hanging Nodule with a single hole ("pendant")
Inscription: HT Wa 1593: engraved schematic symbol Linear AB 81 KU. Scribe: Wa 93
Motif: CMS II,6 28. A seal impression - likely from a lentoid soft-stone diagonally pierced -: two motifs seem mixed. From one side we see the "bird-lady", where both arms may be intended as wings; but the upper part of the woman represents a bucranium as well, where the eyes correspond to the breasts, the horns to the arms and the muzzle to the bodice
Bibliography: Borda 1946: 66 no. 20: GORILA 2: 49; CMS II,6 28; Del Freo 2002-2003: 66-67 no. 22; Albertini-Jasink-Montecchi 2013: 9
Notes: From the same seal a sealing in MAF (94763) The engraved symbol AB 81 KU is one of the "variants" with a noteworthy difference from the standard symbol
